Solution:
Required ratio = 5x×12+8x×12 : 6x×24 : 8x×12+4x×12
= 156 : 144 : 144 = 13 : 12 : 12

2. Deepak distributed his total assets to his wife, three sons, two daughters and five grandson in such a way that each grandchild got one-eight of each son or one-tenth of each daughter. His wife got 40% of the total share of his sons and daughter together. If each daughter received asset of worth Rs. 1.25 lakh, what is the total worth of the assets received by his wife and the three grandson together?

Solution:
Share of 1 grand - children = 1/10×1.25 = 0.125 lakh
Share of 1 son = 8×0.125 = 1 lakh
Share of 1 wife =[40/100 * (3 * 1 + 2 * 1.25)] = 2.2 lakh
Total worth of assets = (3×0.125+2.2)×100000=257500

3. Ravi borrowed some money at the rate of 4% per annum for the first three years, at the rate of 8% per annum for the next two years and at the rate of 9% per annum for the period beyond 5 years. If he given a total simple interest of Rs. 19550 at the end of 7 years. How much money did he borrow?

Solution:
Borrowed money = [19550/(4 * 3 + 8 * 2 + 9 * 2)] * 100 = 42500

4. 12 men can complete a peice of work in 36 days. 18 women can complete the same peice of work in 60 days. 8 men and 20 women work together for 20 days. If only women were to complete the remaining in 4 days, how many women would be required?

Answer: D)
Solution:
12M×36 = 18W×60
M = 2.5W,  8M = 2.5W,  8M = 8×2.5W=20W
(18 * W * 60)/1 = (40W * 20)/W
=> W = 20/27
left work = 1 – 20/27 = 7/27
Then, required women are given as
(18 * 60)/1 = (W * 4)/7 * 27 , 
=> W = 70

5. A train running at the speed of 20 m./sec crosses a pole in 24 second less than the time required to cross a platform whose length is thrice of that of train at the same speed. What is the length of the train?

Length of platform will be covered in 24 second
length of platform = 20×24 = 480 m.
length of train = 480/3 = 160m
