10. Pankaj borrowed a total amount of Rs.32500 from his three friends Raj, Akash and Suresh. If the amount that Pankaj had taken from Raj is 18/25  of the amount taken from Suresh, then find that what amount Pankaj has taken from Akash?

1. C) Total persons doing their jobs in Gulf in the year 2016 = 4125 * 100/27.5 = 15000
Total persons doing their jobs in Gulf in the year 2013 = 15000 * 3/5 = 9000
Total Bangladeshis in the year 2013 in Gulf = 17.5% of 9000 = 1575
2. B) Let persons in 2014 and 2017 are ‘x’ and ‘y’ respectively.
According to the problem-
45% of x = 30% of y
x : y  = 2 : 3
Required ratio-
15% of x : 50% of y = 15x : 50y = 1 : 5
3. A) Total persons in 2015 = 5670 * 100/35 = 16200
Total Bangladeshis in 2016 = 16200/3 = 5400
Required % = (5670 – 5400)/5400 * 100 = 5%
4.  B) Total persons in the year 2013 = 2250 × 100/25 = 9000
Total Pakistanies in the year 2014 = 2250 × 88/45 = 4400
Total persons in the year 2014 = 4400 * 100/40 = 11000
Total persons in the Gulf in the year 2013 and 2014 together = 9000 + 11000 = 20000
5. D) Let total number of persons in the given years be 2x, 3x, 3x, 4x and 5x respectively.
Required ratio-
57.5% of 2x : 45% of 3x : 35% of 3x : 27.5% of 4x : 20% of 5x
57.5 × 2 : 45 × 3 : 35 × 3 : 27.5 × 4 : 20 × 5

6. A) Let total distance = 100x
Distance covered by car = 20% of 100x = 20x
Distance covered by Train = [5/(5 + 3)] * 50% of (100x – 20x) = 5/8 * 40x = 25x
Distance covered by Taxi = [3/(3 + 5)] * 50% of (100x – 20x) = 3/8 * 40x = 15x
Distance covered on feet = 100x – 20x – 25x – 15x = 40x
Total distance covered by Car and Taxi = 20x + 15x = 35x = 126 km (Given)
Length of journey = 100 × 126/35 = 360km
7. A) Let total work is LCM of 20, 25 and 50 days = 100 units
1 day work of Aman , Bhanu and Cheenu is 5 units, 4 units and 2 units. But the nature of work of Cheenu is opposite to that of Aman and Bhanu.
Let Cheenu work for ‘x’ days and remaining days in which only Aman and Bhanu work is (13 – x) days.
According to question
x × (5 + 4 2) + (13 x) × (5 + 4) = 100
x = 8.5 days
Hence Cheenu left the work after 8.5 days.
8. D) Let per cent of pure rice in final mixture = x%.
Apply mixture and allegation –
[(55 – x)/(x – 70)] = 6/12 => x = 60%
Hence per cent of adulteration in the final mixture = 100% – 60% = 40%
9. A) Let Rahim has 100 Jeans and C.P of each Jeans is Rs. 100.
Then, Marked price of each Jeans = 100 × 120/100 = Rs.120
And, Selling price of 100 Jeans = 100 × 100 × (102.3/100) = Rs.102.30
Selling price of 40 Jeans (i.e., 2/5 of 100) = 40 × 120 × 75/100 = 3600
Selling price of 25 jeans (i.e 1/4 of 100) = 25 × 120 × 88/100 = 2640
Let Rahim gave a% discount on remaining (i.e., 100 – 40 – 25 = 35) Jeans.
Selling price of remaining 35 Jeans = 35 × 120 × (100 – a)/100 = 4200 × (100 – a)/100
According to the question,
10230 = 3600 + 2640 + 4200 × (100 – a)/100
=> 100 – a = 95 => a = 5%
10. C) Let the amount taken from Suresh is x and amount taken from Raj = 18x/25
Amount taken from Akash = 32500 – x – 18x/25 = 32500 – 43x/25
Total interest he gives
=> {[(18x/25) * 12]/100} + {[(32500 – 43x/25) * 16]/100} + (x * 18)/100 = 5090 (Given)
216x – 688x + 450x = 12725000 – 13000000
