Since
the man can see the front of the train behind him, the train must be at a
distance of 500 m from him. Now the train disappears in 5 minutes. The man can
see upto 500 m in fog. He can see back side of the train. This means that the
distance covered by train during these 5 minutes is 500 + 500 + 200 (front
appears but rear disappears) = 1200 m
