b) Rs.21705.46
c) Rs.22584.80
d) Rs.21484.80

15. If total amount of A is equals to six times that of his Principal then what is the Rate of Interest (%)?
a) 122.22%
b) 144.44%
c) 133.33%
d) 166.66%
e) None of the Above
Solutions:
1. B) Let Kapil’s expenditure in 2003 and 2005 = Rs.x
Profit percent in 2003 = 24%
Using above formula: P% = P/E * 100
24 = P(2003)/x * 100 => P(2003) = 24x/100
Now Income = E + P = x + 24x/100 = 124x/100 = I(2003)
Similarly I(2005) = 116x/100
Now,
I(2003)/I(2005) = 124/116 = 31/29 = 31 : 29
2. E) In year 2007:
Profit percent of Kapil = 21%
Using above formula: P% = P/E * 100
=> 21 = P(K)/250000 * 100 => P(K) = 21 * 2500 = 52500
Similarly, Profit of Manoj P(M) = 42500 and Profit of Shirish P(S) = 35000
Therefore Total Profit = P(K) + P(M) + P(S) = 52500 + 42500 + 35000 = 130000
3. D) Let the income of 2003 = Rs.x (each)
expenditure of 2004 = Rs.x (each)
% profit of 2004, 2005, 2006 are respectively 15%, 22% and 19%
Therefore, Income in 2006 = 115% of 122% of 119% of x = (115 * 112 * 119 * x)/100
Profit = [(115 * 112 * 119 * x)/100] – x  = (1669570x – 1000000x)/1000000 = 0.669570x
Profit % = 0.669570x/x * 100 = 66.95% = 67% (approx.)
4. A) Total expenditure = (18 + 15 + 24) lakhs = 57 lakhs
121% of 118% of 18 + 116% of 116% of 15 + 114% of 112% of 24
= 25.7004 + 20.184 +3 0.6432 = 76.5276 lakh
(116% of 116% of 18 + 118% of 121 % of 15 + 112% of 114% of 24) lakh
= 24.2208 + 21.4170 + 30.6432 = 76.281 lakh
= 76,28,100
5. D) Income of shirish in year 2014;
118% of 121% of 140000 = Rs.1,99,892
6. B) In Company P
No. of Male Engineers = 11/16 * 480 = 330
No. of Women in Administration = 8/13 * 520 + 5/8 * 160 + 3/10 * 60
= 320 + 100 + 18 = 438
Therefore difference = 438 – 330 = 108
7. E) No. of Women Engineers in companies T and R = 7/18 * 540 + 9/23 * 460 = 210 + 180 = 390
No. of Male clerk in Companies T and R = 14/31 * 620 + 7/16 * 320 = 280 + 140 = 420
Therefore Required ratio = 390/420 = 13/14
8. A) No. of female Officers in companies P and Q
= 5/8 * 160 + 14/25 * 250 = 100 + 140 = 240
Total No. of technical Employees = 480 + 340 = 820
Required percentage = 240/820 * 100 ≈ 29%
9. C) Total number of officers :-
= [160 + 250 + 350 + 230 + 180] = 1170
Total number of manager :-
= [60 + 90 +130 + 110 + 80] = 470
Therefore, Difference = 1170 – 470 = 700
10. A) Total No. of men manger = 7/10 * 60 + 3/5 * 90 + 7/13 * 130 + 6/11 * 110 + 5/8 * 80
= 42 + 54 + 70 + 60 + 50 = 276
Total No. of women managers = 3/10 * 60 + 2/5 * 90 + 6/13 * 130 + 5/11 * 110 + 3/8 * 80
= 18 + 36 + 60 + 50 + 30 = 194
Therefore, required difference = 276 – 194 = 82
11. D) Rate of interest of D=2×4=8%
Amount of D =P+PNR/100
=15000+(15000×4×8)/100
=Rs.19800
Amount of B=2×19800=Rs.39600
Principal of B= P (1 +(R/100))n
39600=P (1 +(5/100))3
P=(39600×100×100×100)/(105×105×105)=Rs.34207.96=Rs.34208
12. C) Total amount of D=16500
Interest =16500-15000=1500
Interest rate=(1500×100)/(2×15000)=5%
Principal of A=15000
Amount=15000+(15000×3×5)/100=15000+2250=Rs.17250
13. C) Principal of A=3000/2×5=1500
Rate of interest=1.25×4=5%
Total A=P+PNR/100
=7500+(7500×3×5)/100
=7500+1125=Rs.8625
Total C=P(1+R/100)n
=3000×(1+4/100)2
=3000×104/100×104/100
=3244.8
Required percentage=(3244.8/8625)×100=37.6%
14. B) Principal of B=125/100×15000=18750
Amount of B=18750×(105/100)3
=18750×(105×105×105)/(100×100×100)=Rs.21705.46
15. D) Amount of A=P+PNR/100
6P=P+PNR/100
6=1+3R/100
R=(5×100)/3=166.66%
