Solutions:
1. D) Abhinav's investment = Rs. 6000
Sunil's Investment = 70 x 6000/100
= Rs. 4200
Rita's Investment = 4200 x 125/100
= Rs. 5250
Therefore Required ratio
= 5250 : (6000 + 4200 + 5250)
= 5250 : 15450 = 35 : 103
2. D) Principal = SI x 100/Time x Rate
= 1000 x 100/4 x 5 = Rs. 5000
Case II
Principal = Rs. 10000
Therefore CI = P [(1 + Rate/100)Time -1]
= 10000 [(1 + 5/100)2 -1]
= 10000 x [(21/20)2 -1]
= 10000 x 41/400 = Rs. 1025
3. A) Perimeter of square
= 2 x Perimeter of rectangle
= 2 x 2 (8+7) = 60 cm.
Therefore, Side of square = 60/4 = 15 cm.
Therefore , Diameter of semi-circle = 15 cm
Therefore, Cicumference of semi-cricle
= πd/2 + d
= 22/7x2 x 15 + 15 = 38.57 cm
4. D) Let Radha's present age = x years.
x = 2 (x = 12) - 3
= x = 2x - 24 - 3 = x = 27
Raja's present age = 4/9 x 27
= 12 years
Raja's age after 5 years = 12 + 5 = 17 years
5. C) 5x + 9x + 4x = 72 x 3
= 18x = 72 x 3
x = 72 x 3/18 = 12 kmph
Average speed of car and train
= 5x + 9x/2 = 7x
= 7 x 12 = 84 kmph
6. D) Number of students passed from A, B and C is (25 + 30 + 10)% of 6000 = 3900
7. B) Required total = 45% of (25% of 6000) + 40% of (30% of 6000) + 36% of (10% of 6000) + 64% of (20% of 6000) + 60% of (15% of 6000)
= 675 + 720 + 216 + 768 + 540 = 2919
8. A) EBoys = 40% of (15% of 6000) = 360
Bgirls = 30% of (40% of 6000) = 720
9. B) (E)Girls = 60/100 x 15/100 x 6000 = 540
(B)Total = 30/100 x 6000 = 1800
% = 540/1800 x 100 = 30%
10. D) (D)total = 20/100 x 6000 = 1200
(A)Boys = 55% of (25% of 6000) = 825
Reqd % = 1200 - 825/825 x 100 = 37500/825
= 1500/33 = 45 15/33%
