1. C) Let the distance travelled by car be 'x' km
14x + 5(220 − x) = 2270
14x + 1100 − 5x = 2270
9x = 1170 x = 130
2. D) Surface area of a sphere = 4Пr2
Total surface area of a cylinder = 2Пr(h + r)
Therefore 4Пr2 = 2Пr1(h + ra)
=> 4 × 22/7 × r2 = 2  × 22/7 × 4(4 + d) => r2 = 16 => r = 4
3. B) In 12 minutes first pipe completes = 12/16 = ¾
The remaining ¼ part filled by second pipe in ¼ × 24 = 6
Second pipe should be turned off after 6 minutes
4. D) Required production = 115% of 92% of 468 => 115/100 × 92/100 × 468 = 495.144

Therefore required difference = 240 – 108 = 132
9. E) Second number = 2400 × ¼ = 600
If the first number be x, then
x × 6/11 = 600 × 22/100 = 132 => x = (132 × 11)/6 = 242
Therefore 45% of 242 = 108.9
10. D) Total marks obtained by Seema = (875 × 56)/100 = 490
Total marks obtained by Nitya = (875 × 92)/100 = 805
Required average marks = (490 + 805 + 634)/3 = 1929/3 = 643
